Nancy Curran DVM, CVA

Dr. Nancy Curran’s interest in holistic medicine began in veterinary school with a trip to China for a seminar in Traditional Veterinary Acupuncture. After graduating from Cornell University Veterinary School in 1996 she moved from New York to Portland to begin her veterinary career.

Here in the Pacific Northwest she fell in love with both her partner and the city of Portland. She became certified in veterinary acupuncture in 1998 and operated an acupuncture housecall practice to serve patients with mobility issues from musculoskeletal problems as well as those in need of hospice care. She joined Hawthorne Veterinary Clinic in 2000 allowing her to practice holistic medicine on a much wider scale and to pursue extensive training in Chinese herbs, western herbs, chiropractic, and homeopathy.

In fall of 2008 she opened her dream clinic, Two Rivers Veterinary Clinic, to provide the best in alternative, complementary and conventional therapies to her patients. She believes that as a holistic vet, it’s essential to look at the potential value of all the treatments at our disposal and to integrate the alternative with the conventional with the goal of achieving the best care possible.

Nancy lives with her partner Amber and their three cats: Scotty, Tyler and Bradley. Nancy has a deep appreciation for Portland as a community oriented city committed to sustainability with great access to magnificent natural beauty. She and her partner enjoy trips to the coast and Mt Hood, cycling, hiking, gardening and eating really good food.
