Dr. Hamann can’t remember a time when she didn’t love or want to work with animals. In middle school she moved from Montreal, Quebec to the United States, and wrote about wanting to care for animals when she grew up, hoping to have a farm with 12 horses. After obtaining an undergraduate degree in wildlife biology and a doctorate of veterinary medicine from Colorado State University, she moved to Oregon and began working in general practice in 1987.
Influenced by her mother whose medical training included physical therapy and herbal medicine, Dr. Hamann began practicing holistic veterinary medicine in 2002. She loves to connect with people in the care of their animal companions, and especially enjoys working with older animals.
Dr. Hamann’s family includes her husband Dick, her son Dylan and daughter Anja, and a senior Thoroughbred horse named Eva. She loves to ride, garden, hike, ski, and swim in the ocean when visiting East Coast family and friends.
Outside of her days at Two Rivers Vet, Dr. Hamann provides acupuncture through her holistic house call practice, Hands On Animal Healing.
